I'm Not Part Of Plans To Promote Homosexuality - Prez Akuffo-AddoPresident Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo had a press meet-up to mark his first year in office. He took questions from assembled pressmen on all sorts of issues.
Prez Akuffo-Addo sought to calm speculations about his interest in legalizing homosexuality in Ghana. He said that wasn’t on his agenda.
Recently, Akufo-Addo caused a firestorm. This happened after his with Al-Jazeera. It was the interview that stated that legalization of homosexuality was ‘bound to happen’ in Ghana. He sought to clarify his position at the event.

Statement From Prez Akuffo-Addo

“I’m not involved in any conspiracy to promote homosexuality.”
He said that homos*xuality was anathema to Ghanaian culture. Therefore, he was not going to legalize it during his tenure.
However, the issue of LGBT rights continues to dominate discussion in the Ghanaian sphere. This is primarily due to the President’s comments. Also, the Human Rights Watch recently released a documentary. It illustrates how LGBT people are discriminated against in Ghana.
